Today has been relatively relaxing with no alarms set and just a stroll down to the beach to sunbathe or, in my case, lay in the shade for most of the day reading. The book I am reading at the minute is called Once Upon a Time (a Broken Fairy Tale) by S.K. Hartley and it is laugh out loud funny at some points. The weather was not quite as warm as what it has been, so it was comfortable to lay down there even during the midday sun and the sea also was colder than what it has been, but it felt nice all the same. Me and Georgia left the others at the beach around 3pm, as we made our way back to the hotel to get ready for Muay Thai.
The Muay Thai training centre was virtually directly opposite where we are staying so took only a couple of minutes to get there. Me and Georgia both wore ¾ length trousers along with a sports bra, as well as our trainers although turned out, we trained bare feet anyway. There were about 5 or 6 people attending the class and roughly the same number of trainers, as everyone was at different levels. We all done the warmup together which was loads of stretches, a minute plank and then 5 minutes of skipping; the skipping nearly killed me I'm sure. I cannot believe how unfit I am compared to what I was before I came away, although equally, I can when I realise my clothes are starting to get a bit tight… Whoops. Once the warmup was complete, me and Georgia went together with one trainer and he taught us the stance initially, before going on to teach us jabs, punches, uppercuts, hooks, kicks, knees and finally elbow hits. I was quite good at the arm hits but not so good at the kicks or knees as I could not quite get the spin round, this might be due to my lack of flexibility or my lower back issues, but either way, it did not hurt practicing so hopefully, by the end of the 5 sessions, this should improve a bit. Me and Georgia took it in turns after the initial induction, to do a few combinations whilst the other person caught their breath. I could not believe how much I was sweating! The coach even thought my skin had blistered when he looked at me just from all the sweat balls on me, which I know is gross but hey, it’s all part of the fun. The final exercise we had to do was for me and Georgia to hold onto each others shoulders and do high knees one leg at a time until we reach 100, we felt so silly doing this, but I am sure there is a reason behind it. At the end of the session, we took the wraps off and we both got a hand and arm massage from the trainer before he helped us stretch our legs out; he tried to get my head to touch

my knee, with no joy I might add, however Georgia done this with ease. I really enjoyed the session and we both said we can now feel all the endorphins flowing around our bodies and have already planned to go tomorrow at 8am although I may regret that when I wake up as I can already feel my triceps aching. The cold shower after our session felt incredible as I was absolutely baking from the workout.
At 6pm, me and Georgia met up to go grab a light dinner. We went back to The Brother's restaurant that we have been to a few times and each treated our bodies to a fruit shake and a small meal which was well deserved. So that leads me to now, only 8pm and already in bed ready to sleep, always the party animal am I.
