My Travels through South Africa and Thailand

I had such a good night’s sleep last night and I did not wake up till 11.30am! I needed the A/C and comfy bed to catch up properly. Once I was dressed, I went back into town and went to that restaurant I went to last night to grab some brunch which was delicious as I had an iced caramel cappuccino with a strawberry and banana crepe and the size of this thing was impressive especially considering it only cost just over £1. The weather on Koh Samui seems slightly cooler and more overcast than on Koh Tao which isn’t a bad thing as it means I can walk around without causing a sweat trail behind me.

After breakfast, I grabbed some stuff for dinner tonight and then made my way back to the hotel to spend the day in the pool. The pool was nice with a sit-down area and breakfast bar area all in the water plus a decent length to swim with the backdrop of the mountains behind. The pool was really quiet as I think I am staying in more of a long-term apartment rent place than hotel, so it was really peaceful here with only a few people

coming down for some lengths throughout the day. I spent most of my time catching up with my journal at the breakfast bar before going to sit down to read a book till the sun had set and it was becoming cold. Due to it being more overcast here, it meant that I was easily able to spend the 5 hours outside and not burn.

I came in and enjoyed the hot shower to rinse myself of the chlorine before putting my pyjamas on and warming up my pasta in the microwave for dinner though I had to message Jai and ask her to translate the cooking instructions for me. My dinner was quite nice, it had a sort BBQ sauce taste to it which was strange, but I enjoyed it anyway. My plan for now is just to lie in bed and watch a movie before I go to sleep in a few hours and prepare for my flight back to Bangkok.
