11 hours on the road and we finally made it to Vietnam. The scenery changed drastically as did the amount of rubbish. It is very clean here! Cambodia was amazing and we are very sad to leave it behind, however Vietnam has been calling us! We crossed the border after having to bribe them with a $1 note, and got some more stamps in our passports - which are already looking pretty full!
We got to our simple home-stay and immediately put the mosquito nets down over our beds! We saw some frogs and geckos too! The meal they provided was phenomenal and we can't wait to try and make the pancake they made again, in New Zealand. (The spring rolls were the best we had out of our whole trip!)
After a "few" drinking games a hot hot hot night awaited us. We had a tiny fan in our room but it did almost nothing and left us sweaty and tired. There was also a rooster that decided to crow every hour from about 1am making any type of sleep almost impossible.
We have a 4 hour bus ride (air conditioned thank goodness!) to Ho Chi Minh city today which we are all particularly excited about. We are dropping four people off from our tour there and gaining another four. Hostels will also be our accommodation here so that will be interesting. - Danielle
