We arrived in the afternoon and got picked up by Uncle Chris and Aunty Ronel. It felt so good to be back in Mossel Baai! They had done an extension to their house and it was now about five bedrooms! That night we just spent time at their house and went to the beach for a quick swim. We met Marnie who was Constant’s partner and hit it off with her straight away!

The next day we got up bright and early and went to the beach. We floated (well, I struggled to float) down the lagoon, and swam in the sea. The weather was outstanding and we were so relaxed there! Sunette and Stian (Stian is Kyle's cousin) arrived today and it was so nice to meet them. They were really chilled out and it was funny hearing Stian and Kyle’s cricket stories from when they were young. Marnie and Constant, Kyle and I went into town and had a coffee together before going to the mall. I bought a jumpsuit that Marnie had seen (I had no idea that she had wanted to buy it for me for my Secret Santa, so I stuffed that one up!) and Kyle and I walked around and around the mall trying to find a pestle and mortar for Constant but ended up going for some Lego!

Kyle got some acupuncture from Constant and it was so hilarious to watch! He tried so hard to keep it together but ended up yelling quite a bit haha. It was some entertainment for the rest of us! We walked around the area and took a drive to another bay with Marnie and Constant. It was super flash with massive houses and soo many people but it was interesting to see another bay and there was one house that was built into the side of the cliff. We went to the beach again and chilled out at the beach house. That night Aunty Ronel made us a lovely dinner and then we exchanged Secret Santa gifts – I got Sunette some Body Butter from the Body Shop, Kyle got Constant some Lego, I got a beautiful necklace of South Africa from Marnie, Kyle got some biltong and a singlet. THEN! Constant proposed to Marnie (she said YES!) which was really special to be a part of. It was so nice to share that moment with them.
25th December
We went to the beach and it was FULL! But it was still nice to go and swim as it was so incredibly warm. We ventured there later on in the afternoon with Uncle Chris and Aunty Ronel and I got dumped by some waves big time so didn’t last long in the at all!
26th December
The Hoggards and Moloney’s arrived! It was so great to see them again after so long. We went with Constant and Marnie to the airport and picked them all up and when we got back to the beach house and then went for a swim. That evening Marnie and Constant made dinner for our Come Dine With Me evening and they made this BBQ barracuda and cool ice cream thing with toppings that you put in tin foil and then put it on the BBQ. We then played this detective card game which was very intense!! It was an early night for most of us!
27th December
The weather was a bit average today so we went for a drive to Mossel Baai where we bought alcohol and fish for our Come Dine With Me Evening that was ‘Island Theme’. We also bought about a tonne of biltong and droerwors. That afternoon we went to the supermarket and got all of our ingredients! It was organised chaos! When we got home we started preparing. Liam and I were on fish (bit of a disaster but got there in the end!), Kyle on cocktails and the rest on prepping and entree and salads. We made grilled fish with a pineapple salsa (in pineapples), asparagus, and a watermelon, kaffir lime and avocado salad. We then played Slap Cup and it was hilarious! Uncle Chris did not grasp the game at all and kept slapping his own cup. It was a great evening, full of laughs and lots of humour from everyone.
28th December
The next day we went to Botlierskop which was a private game reserve. We wanted to go to one with
a view overlooking Mossel Baai but it was closed, but this was still so beautiful and Trudi and I smashed back a whole bottle of wine and the weather was amazing and was so hot. The Hoggard’s and Moloney’s seemed to really enjoy themselves! When we got back we went to the beach to cool off. Later on we went for a walk on the beach and took some nice photos as a Feilding Family. That night was Sunette and Stian’s turn for Come Dine With Me. They did an American Themed night, so naturally, we all dressed up as Donald Trump. Sunette and Stian had a nice surprise with that! However their food was amazing! They made their own bread from scratch and we had burgers. Then we had cinnamon scrolls (also made from scratch) for dessert.
29th December
We had a chilled out morning and packed our bags. We had a prize giving for Come Dine With Me, which we won! I was very happy but we did have a massive advantage of having all those other people there with us to help! We then got hurried along by Uncle Chris and got to the airport where we took off to Cape Town. By the time we took off, we were
landing, which made drinking a massive cup of wine very interesting! - Danielle
