Kyle and Danielle's Big OE

Today we headed to Riga by bus. It was 4 hours long and there wasn’t much to see on the highways. We arrived about 2pm and walking to our accommodation was like walking through time! The buildings were really old and worn down, lots of them were derelict but nothing appeared to be done about it. We walked around the Old City a lot but it was freezing and also dead! There were hardly any people about and it didn’t have a great feel to it. The architecture was really pretty and we saw a lot of beautiful, colourful buildings. We went to the top of St Peter’s Church, next door to our accommodation, which had great views. We also went to the Kiwi Bar which was around the corner from our accommodation. It was nice to be out in a bar with familiar things around us and the bartender spoke great English – we had a good yarn.
