We arrived nice and early at the airport and checked in as we were going to Estonia. It was sad to say goodbye to Holland but we were energised to get back into sight-seeing.
The flight was fairly quick and when we arrived in Tallinn it was already dark, even though it was about 3pm. We got an Uber to our apartment and then found a supermarket to get some food for dinner.
3rd November
The next day we went to explore the Old Town of Tallinn. We really liked all of the colourful buildings and went to the city wall straight away where we got great views of the town. We basically just walked around the town for a few hours and had a look at restaurants we wanted to go to and helped ourselves to the samples of free home made fudge. We went to the Guildhouse museum and learnt a bit about Tallinn’s history. It was really cold!
4th November
The main thing we did today was go to Catherine’s Grove which was where all of the craftsmen used to make their crafts. They still have artists there, selling their goods, and the buildings are still so old and seem almost untouched. It was a beautiful day today but still bitterly cold. The Old Town is a UNESCO heritage site. We also went to the KGB cells which was a real eye opener for us and we looked in some cathedrals and ticked off the recommended buildings as we went. Unfortunately as it was off-peak, there were a few things closed such as the viewing point at the top of the Alexander Cathedral.
5th November
We walked around again today and chilled out at our accommodation. For dinner we went to Peppersack which was a medieval restaurant dating back to 1330. It was a real novelty and was a great way to finish our time in Tallinn.
