Kyle and Danielle's Big OE

And so our adventure begins!
We spent the last night in Lower Hutt at Theo and Marie’s place – we had a family pot luck dinner with Chantel, Damian, Oma, Theo, Marie, Jason, Michael and Lisa, Laura, Richard and Evie. It was such a lovely way to start our holiday. It was a shame Mum and Dad weren't there.
The next morning we flew to Auckland where we stayed with Kyle’s Dad and Julie, then headed to the International Airport. After a drink before noon we got onto the plane and sat through 12 hours of movies and had no sleep.
In Bangkok it was a nice 27 degrees at 8.30pm where we got our transfer to the Bangkok Central Hotel – we checked in as quickly as possible so that we could catch the Football World Cup Final. We were just in time but to our dismay Croatia went down 4-2 to France.
The next morning we had a nice breakfast in the hotel and planned out our morning. We ventured into China Town via a temple. China Town was full of interesting smells on every corner with shark fin soup and unidentifiable meat on a stick. Tuk Tuk drivers were eager to give us a ride but we persisted with walking even though we went up and down the same road a few times. Our feet were starting to hurt as we weren’t used to wearing our jandals but we headed back to the hotel for a swim, drink and nap before meeting our tour group.
That night our tour group all went out for dinner at a nice restaurant and so far the other people on the tour seem really friendly, so it should be a good month together travelling through South East Asia.
