North to Alaska and Back
We took it easy today. We had a late pancake breakfast and then took Sandy with us for a hike to the Tonsina River bluff overlook. It was a nice hike through the forest and then along the bluff to the overlook. We didn’t see any wild life, unless you count the three LARGE off-leash dogs that emerged from the forest just as we approached the trail head. I was worried as they rushed up to Sandy, but thankfully, it appeared they only wanted to check her out. As the owner called them off, I noticed that she had a rifle slung over her shoulder. She said nothing and went on her way.
In the evening we went out to dinner at the Princess Lodge at Copper Center. It reminded us of years ago when we had been there with our friends, Ginny and Joe. After dinner, we were sitting in front of the fire at the lodge and looked out the windows and saw a gorgeous rainbow.

Day 26: Kenny Lake Area
