Day four of our journey home took us through the entire province of Saskatchewan! This was when we finished driving the Yellowhead and rejoined the Transcanada. We were closing in on Winnipeg when I decided we should look for beds for the night. Unfortunately, the 2017 Canada Summer Games were being held in Winnipeg that week! We stopped at several inns and found no vacancies. We called Marc and had him search online while we continued hopping from place to place praying for an available room. Finally, we found a spot at the CanadInn, in Portage la Prairie, and begged them to give us their last room, even though it didn’t allow dogs. Eventually they did, but asked us to go in the back door so guests wouldn’t see that we had a dog!! We were exhausted after this long day of driving, and although I saw the gorgeous pool and hot tub, complete with water slide, we couldn’t imagine changing into anything but our pajamas and crawling between the sheets.
