Rangtangsplus1 in Malaysia and Sumatra 2015
Sumatra to malaysia
The alarm went off at 5.am and we got ready and down to the foyer for 5.20 to check out and grab our boxed breakfast. The airport shuttle left at 5.30 and then proceeded to drive like a maniac all the way to the airport. Luckily there wasnt much traffic. The receptionist said we need to leave at 5.30 to be there for 7am well we got there just after 6am!
after checking in with air asia we treated ourselves to a starbucks . The almond croissant was yummy we chucked our breakfast boxes away they looked and smelt awful. We then proceeded through the departures gate and spent yhe rest of the time in the Polo clothes shop. They had an offer on anc we had lots of rupiah to spend. Mar us got some shorts and shirt and i got a shirt.
The air asia flight left at 9.10 and the plane was much bigger than Firefly ones. We werent sitting with the boys. The flight was okay and we arrived on time and the clocks went forward an hour too. We walked for miles to immigration and there were no queues at all. We picked up our bags and went tothe ticketcounter to organise our taxi to Subang airport. All went fi e and we checked in about 3 hours early in subang and went to find some lunch. Finlay feeling a bit better and he had a Macdonalds along with mar us again . I had noodle soup and dominic 2 meals of curries !!
We left at 3.40 pm and an hour later we touched down in Kota bharu and ee agot a taxi to ghe bus station as that was a good central point to find some accommodation. The first place had no aircon so we stayed in Assam but the rooms were quite grotty but we decided it was only for 1 night.
Aftrr sorti g the rooms we decided to go for a walk around town. It was quite a pleasant place to walk arou d in respect of traffic et . The usual drain smells! we looked around everywhere for the malaysian handicraft shop, but i think it must have been closed. The map in the the LP book was rubbish. We then tried to find the night market, which we eventually found after adking several people. Finlay still not ferling too good so found a table which didnt have too many smells. I just had a bit of barbacued chicken. Finlay and marcus a toti and fominic some noodles.We weren't particuatly hungry.
On the wsy back to the hotel we fojnd a supermarket which was quitd fascinating to walk round. They sell so much hot drinks stuff. We bought some shampoo, snacks and drinks to take with us to the Perhentians the next day. And then off yo bed as another early start tomorrow.
