FIRST LEG TO ISTANBUL
Had to run to the gate as a precariously placed coffee cup placed by the young Dominic ended up all over my one and only fleece/warm thing, so a quick trip to the loo to wash and a half heaarted attempt at drying it, aas I really didnt want to wear a nice brown coffee stained fleece all holiday. Actualy I hope I/wont need it vey much. So we are just about to decsend into Istanbul having had a much better flight than exected for the short leg of the journey, TV screens on all our seats that worked. We 3 all watched the Kingsman it was great. The food was yummy and all washed down nicely with aa red wine, that was a bit too cold.
It was like a party on the plane with mostly turkish people and lots of children, the poor hostesses could hardly get down the aisle with all the people standing up chatting
Istanbul transit/departure lounge was manically busy. Luckily we only had 2 hours to wait. Should have taken some euros to spend there. Should have bought my gin there though cheaper!!
SECOND LEG TO KUALA LUMPUR
Now on second leg of the journey. This is a 10 and a 1/2 hour flight and we have just over 2 to go, Weare near the back and its not full. Some people have several seats. I just have my kids using me as a cushion. Dinner quite nice, not as good as previous flight though.. I chose a white wine this time as it was cold., but sadly not cold enough. Have watched 2 movies The Other Woman, which was pretty crap but made me laugh and The Butler which was great but a bit of a tear jerker.
Roll on breakfast, which will come soon and then we will be landing in KL at 5pm there time, find the hotel and out for dinner. Mmm what happened to lunch! Getting bored now and just waant to get there and take in the sights, sounds, smells and heat of the Far East

FRIDAY 17th JULY - Writing this On the bus to Melaka
Arrived safely yesterday, not too bumpy a landing about 1/2 hour late. Took about 1 1/2 hours to get through immigration and for our bags to turn up. We bought a taxi coupon and headed out of the terminal and were hit by the stifling heat - yahoo. It was daylight when we left the airport but drk an hour laate when we arrived at our guesthouse. The taxi driver drove round and rond china town til we found our home for the night. The taxi fare was 75 ringit, just under £15(same price as Easton Grey to Sherson!) As he tried hard to find the guesthouse and didn,t just dump us at a conevenient plce I gave him 20 extra. I probably wont be so generous as we strt getting used to the prices!
Our room was certainly nothing special, very squashe, an inside room with windows to the corridor. Bathroom in the corridoor but it had ice cool air conditioning and comfy beds. We soon sprawled all/ our stuff round our bedroom!, Dominic quickly shotgunned the single and Marcus and I shared the double
Quick showers and then about 8;30 headed onto the streets,
there was such a feeling of happiness. I just love asia and all it has to offer,, I suppose i have alwys been on holiday when I m out here and I /just love the weather. We immediately fell upon a long street market, with every 1/3 stall selling the same stuff. We were hungry and eventually found a hawker market, where you found tble and then went round the dfferent stalls , chose the dish you wanted and they brought it to your taable. It was quite stressy, as the photos of the food were awful nd Marcus couldn't chhose for ages. I had a squd noodle claypot, it was delicious but very spicy. Narcus had something similar and once he hd fished out the kidney Ball it was quite tasty!!! Dominic ended up with 2 meals somehow! After that we went to 7-11 and bought some water, which was quite expensive so hope thts cheaaper elsewhere anad went back to our room very
tired but happy. Well the air conditioning we were turning on and off all night
