Bukit Lawang to medan.

Woke up feeling much better and i had a pancake as i was starving. Finlay now feeling rough. We got packed up and felt sad to leave our lovely room.

Marcus dominic and i went to see if we could buy some souvenirs. We found a few tacky shops. Everything selling the same thing. what a shame we didnt buy more in Lake toba. i did find a t-shirt but not one i really wanted.

We went back to the room later and got ourselqves packed up. The chap taking us to Medan arrived at about 11am so we walked to the barrier. Andy carried finlays pack

Our trip to medan was a very long slow 5 hours. When we had asked for a careful driver we didnt mean one that drove slower than walking! the roads were very had though.

We got to Hotel Soechi about 4 and drove up in to the lobby very posh. We had 2 very nice rooms side by side. Finlay just lay down for the rest of the night. We went in search of the swimming pool and had a great few hours playing ball games in the pool and probably disturbing every one else.

By early evening we were pretty starving. None of us fancied any more indonesian food so we were very naughty and went back to the station area where we thought we saw a kentuck fried chicken, but ut was just a sign. We decided on a Macdonalds and all had big mac and fries for about £2. We then went to dunkin doughnuts and had drinks and doughnuts but i was too full to eat it. It was in the railway station and i we chatted to a local family who were in there showing their kids the trains and tallking about Thomas the tank engine!

We retuned to the hotel stuffed and went to bed as an ealy start.j
