November 11th, or 11-11, looks like a bunch of sticks. That's why the maker of the popular candy Pocky declared this day 'Pocky Day'. For those of you who are not familiar with it, Pocky is basically crisp thin breadsticks that are dipped into chocolate, strawberry dip or something alike. At the university Pocky Day means that you get a 15 Yen discount on Pocky sticks and if you buy at least 2 packs, you take part in a kind of raffle: They have a big octagonal-shaped box with various colored marbles in them. As you spin the box, every turn a marble falls out. Depending on the color of the marble, you win something. For every 2 boxes you were able to spin once. While we do not know what the main prize was, smaller prizes were a 20% off coupon for ice cream (one of Miklos's co-workers got stuck with that). The best priz\e however, was the consolidation price: A giant inflated Pocky Stick. Let's see what we will win next year!
