One thing that is super interesting in Japan are the number of flavored soy milks you can buy. We estimate that there are at least 20 different soy milk flavors in supermarkets. This is because many people in Japan are lactose intolerant. While being lactose intolerant is not fun by any means, it certainly is any vegan's dream come true. While Tori is not vegan, she is not a fan of cow milk. So, flavored soy milks make her extremely happy, and she puts them in her over night oats daily.
Pictured here are some of the different flavors we recently bought at the supermarket. The 5 pictured on the left are seasonal fall flavors, the remaining 3 are some of our regular favorites.
In case you're curious, here are a list of the flavors from left to right: sweet tofu, red bean paste, flan, sweet potato, chestnut, melon, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream.
Other flavors not pictured include: banana, exotic fruit mix, chocolate mint, coffee, matcha, peach, 'soda', tea, chocolate, and other seasonal flavors.
