The Sweetest Hubby

Since it was a short work week (we had off Monday-Wednesday for Golden Week, a national holiday) Tori decided to commute home to Nagoya after work on Thursday. We realized on Wednesday night that our car battery died, which left Tori with no choice but to commute using public transportation.

Miklos told Tori that he would meet her at the train station upon arrival home. He asked her to walk over to the supermarket with him so he would not have to go alone. However, as it turns, Miklos used this as a ploy to enact another plan. When Tori arrived, Miklos revealed that

he had planned a surprise-- he wanted to go to Tsurumai Park to have a picnic. He told Tori he anticipated that she would be hungry (which he was correct about) and he brought homemade guacamole for the picnic with a fresh loaf of bread from the local bakery. He also surprised her by bringing sparkling wine and their wedding champagne flutes. It was the perfect night to be in the park. The weather was absolutely perfec! Naturally, Tori was delighted and touched by the kindness and thoughtfulness.

The surprises, however, did not end there. Once Tori and Miklos got home Miklos started preparing dinner, which he also kept secret until it was ready to be served. The surprise dinner turned out to be homemade vegetarian meatloaf. It was his first time making this dish, and it ended up turning out delicious! Miklos complimented the with mashed potatoes and vegetarian gravy!
