We got the apartment! 10/15/19 is our official move in day. Ok, yes, it's true that we did come over the night before and brought some suitcases and such. Yes, after our trip over we did pop a bottle of champagne, but can you blame us? We're beyond excited!
One thing we're really excited about are the 2 closets in the hallway. This is not common in Japan. Sometimes in Japanese apartments you only have 1 closet in the master bedroom. So, you can understand our excitement.
We're also beyond thrilled to have a dishwasher. Maybe we're wrong, but we also don't think this is a common thing in Japan.
Additionally, our apartment came with light fixtures, an a/c unit, and free Wi-Fi. Again, not the norm in Japan.
Over the moon to move in and make this place ours! As we furnish it, we'll post more updates and photos! :)
Check out some of our photos!
Picture 1: Yup, we lugged everything over from our temporary apartment to this one by subway... Trip after trip after trip. Keep in mind we started purchasing things here once we arrived. So we had everything more things to move over.
Picture 2: First time entering our apartment on the night of the 14th. We needed the key to open it the first time, but one thing that is very nice is that tt has a keyless entry! Just enter the code and come on in!
Picture 3: The entrance. On the left is the shoe closet (customary in Asia). This nice thing about this one is that it's floor to ceiling. So, lots of space!
Picture 4: Right past the shoe closet, you make a left and there you'll see one of the two hallway closets. Next to it is a room with the toilet. It's pretty normal in Japan for the toilet to be housed in a separate room. And, yes, we do have one of those super fancy toilets. Still haven't tested it and explored all of its functions.
Picture 5: When you enter and make a right that takes you into the guest room. You can see Tori pictured standing in this room. She's in front of the closet in this room.
Picture 6: On the left, once you walk past the toilet room and the closet, you come to this space. It houses a sink and next to it on the floor is space for a washing machine. Right past that is the shower room.
Picture 7: Across from the shower and sink is the second hallway closet, but if you continue you come into the next area which houses the kitchen, dining room, and living room.
