Trip of a Lifetime

We had a bit of a later start this morning as we had nothing really planned for the day. We headed down for brekkie at about 8:30 again, making the most of the Coco pops, the toast and maybe stealing a few more Nutella’s.
We then took the iPad down to the lake and decided to skype Connor’s family, making sure to show them the view and heighten their jealousy. We hung out at the swimming spot for a couple of hours before heading back up to the hostel to hang out until lunch time.
We later headed up to the other hostel where we cooked up some two minute noodles and boiled eggs for lunch. It’s been a while since we’ve had two minute noodles and boiled eggs and we are reminded how much we enjoy them. It’ll be interesting to see if we can still tolerate them once we get back to Australia, as we definitely had our fair share over the last seven months.
After lunch, we headed into the very quiet town for a bit of a wander and a look around. The weather had kind of turned so we weren’t to keen on swimming, and we were qu9ite content in the little town of Menaggio so decided to not get the ferry across to anywhere else. We bought an ice cream to share, which we enjoyed in the sunshine and then decided to scout a few places for dinner knowing it would be our last dinner in Italy. We headed up to the bus station and bought out train tickets for tomorrow, knowing that we wouldn’t have time in the morning.
We then hung out at the hostel for a little bit longer before making our way into town for dinner. We went to a nearby restaurant that had a small view of the lake, but was also quite busy. We opted to share a carbonara and a pizza, as we usually do.
We spent the whole dinner talking about how fast not only this trip has gone, but specifically our time in Italy. By about 9 pm we headed back to the hostel to meet a few more new roommates and then had a very early night ahead of a pretty early start and a big travel day tomorrow.
