Trip of a Lifetime

Unfortunately I spent most of the night awake as our van rocked back and fourth on a cliff edge in cyclonic winds, however nonetheless, we were up and awake, enjoying coffee by 8:30am. Instead of writing our morning routine for every single day, let me just run you through it now. We wake between 8-8:30am, no alarm, just wake to the sound of the ocean and the sun. We get out of bed and take 3 steps to the lounge where one of us lays while the other boils water on the stove for our morning coffee. We usually lounge there for about an hour doing mindless scrolling or catching up with family, before one of us gets up to boil another pot of water. We use some of that pot to make ourselves another coffee, and the rest we boil our eggs in. Usually by about 10am, we’ve consumed at least two coffees, a couple of eggs on toast and have planned where well head for the next night. We then get the campervan travel ready, and get on the road by about 10:30-11am. We really are such creatures of habit, as that is exactly what happened every single morning.
Although we’d spent the night right on the coast, we were on a cliff edge with no beach beneath us so we decided to move onto the next spot to make the most of the beach. We parked up at the next stop, a small carpark about a 1 minute walk from the beach – our dream. We cooked up some more toasties before heading down to the beach where we lay for a couple of hours.
Unfortunately the wind followed us along the coast so while we enjoyed the sunshine, we were well and truly coated in sand by the end of it.
Before dinner we headed off on a 7.5km run along the coast, soaking up every second of the views in front of us. We headed back to the van for some left-over spaghetti Bolognese before another quiet night, although this night consisting of a lot more Europe trip planning.
