Trip of a Lifetime

After a huge day in the sun this morning, and a couple of burnt bodies (not Connor and I!!), we enjoyed a quiet morning at the apartment. Connor made us a coffee to enjoy in bed while we skyped his parents and caught up on Australian life. With no sign of life from Ash and Michael, we continued the skype calls and had a chat to my parents too.
By 10:30 we all crawled out of bed and reflected on what an awesome day yesterday was, even if we were all feeling a little dehydrated from so much sunshine. We declared today would be a quiet day and we would just head into Salerno for a look around.
We got ourselves organised and then headed to the bus which we caught to Salerno Old Town. By the time we arrived it was after midday, as always, food was first on the agenda. We found a little restaurant where we each devoured a bowl of pasta and far too much bread, before decided to head to Salerno Duomo for a look around. Unfortunately when we arrived it was actually a paid church (despite saying Free online!!), but fortunately for the boys there was a café nearby serving $1euro beers!! We stopped off there for a couple of beers and a couple of cokes before walking from old town to new town. We enjoyed a few shops along the way and then decided we’d grab a gelato and head home.
After feeling like we have eaten a mountain of pizza and pasta recently (but not a single regret), we were all craving some vegetables and so decided we’d detour past the supermarket on the way home and grab supplies for dinner.
Fortunately for us girls, the boys were eager to show us there cooking skills and so we quite literally sat on our beds scrolling our phones until they yelled out that dinner was ready. We enjoyed chicken schnitzels, a couple of Italian sausages and load of veggies with a glass of the red wine we had purchased at Tiberini winery.
Unsurprisingly we were all tucked up in bed by 10pm, again, ready for a big day tomorrow.
