We wrapped up our Utah-Arizona-Nevada meanderings today. We are in Reno, about to head down the mountain to San Francisco.
We basically spent the day driving through the desert in Nevada, south to north. After hours of desert, cacti, joshua trees, and military bases it was nice to come across Walker Lake, which looked refreshing.
In Vegas, we met up with our old friend Franklin, who is a Grateful Bear. When Selina was little, Franklin did a lot of traveling, often with my brother Bernard, and would send Selina messages. She got them from all over the country and even from Europe.
My brother paid for Franklin's fare to meet up with us in Las Vegas, and now he will be riding shotgun into San Francisco.
