Scotland Week 6

Ullapool, Edinburgh, Berwick , 05.23.2022

Sunday - Tesco shut in Stornaway, big shop to restock buggered. Crap planning. Lunch from Blackhouse Bakery then calm ferry to Ullapool. Stayed at Ardmair Point.

Monday - Big shop, Seafood Shack for lovely lunch. Changed plans for rest of trip to cut out North coast as had enough of shit wet windy weather. Trespassing up big hill near site to get view of Isle of Martin & Summer Isles, boggy & steep. Limited for walks from the site.

Tuesday - Cracking walk out to Loch Achall, lovely. Dry, lovely views. Via a big hill, spoke to elderly woman on walk, knew all the local walks. Enjoyed the day.

Wednesday- Moved east to Rosemarkie, nice drive. Scenery changed, walked out to Chanory Point to see the dolphins which was great. Windy. Lovely pitch.

Daisy ate a jellyfish & coughed a lot; no vet required luckily.

Thursday- Drove through Cairngorms to Pitlochry, stayed at Fonab of Milton commercial site. Well kept but busy. Went to Fish Ladder, then beer at Old Mill; sat outside until it rained.

Friday - brilliant, memorable 10 mile walk up Ben Y Vrackie, (841m) very windy but loved it. Our first “Corbet”, awesome views. Stopped on way back at Moulin Hotel for refreshments, barman didn’t know difference between beer and lager. Liked the area, big & favourable contrast to West.

Saturday- Edinburgh, just sat on site outside like “lardarses” as it was sunny & warmest it’s been for 6 weeks. Area around the site was crap.

Sunday - back into to England after a month or so north of the border. Stopover at Berwick on Tweed, nice view over the sea from the site called Seaview..lots of thought gone into that then. Enjoyed a walk around the historic town walls then a few drinks at The Curfew, impressive Micro Pub. Worth revisiting sometime.

Knaresborough next for our last few days before home, Caravan Club must think we’re feckin idiots amount of times we’ve cancelled, amended & rebooked sites over the last few days.

Forest win playoffs….hmm
