Pacifiic Roadtrip and Beyond

Full day in Victoria, Vancouver Island, BC! We had to wake up early after a late night already last night. We caught the early morning ferry, went straight to the Buchart Gardens spending a fair amount of time looking at the different themed gardens. The sunken garden was a bit like an English manor backyard with a long stretch of lawn. The Japanese Garden was the most shaded and cool with traditional arched bridges spanning small streams. The rose garden was spectacular and we did see some workers finely coming through some plants removing all the old and wilted flowers. Back to downtown we spent the rest of our time at the surprisingly informative and educational Miniature World. There were scenes from different key battles in the Revolutionary and Civil War as well as WWI and WWII. Typical scenes from Frontier, Victorian, Tudor life were depicted in detailed scenes. There were extensive fairy tale, circus and medieval displays. The kids wanted to keep going back to look at the people, places, vehicles, houses and more. Ending with hot dogs at the wharf and a night ferry ride back, every small person passed out in the car going to bed with dirty teeth and half in jammies. Victoria had a lot to do and we enjoyed every part that we got to see!
