Pacifiic Roadtrip and Beyond

Lake Agnes hike to the tea shop. A mountain tea shop!!! We thoroughly enjoy it! The kids had different complaints along the way, actually just the two older ones. Too steep, cold toes, thirsty, bathroom, etc. We made it to the top after 2+ miles and had a wonderful cup of tea. The weather outside is exactly like our winter. We were cold! The white-turquoise color of the water proved that the glacier above was slowly grinding down the mountain leaving silt in the water which absorbs all the colors except the light blue/green. Call us crazy, but the larger Lake Louise area, which is where the trail started, is actually a nursery for the grizzly bears. Isn’t that a consoling thought? Apparently we were ultra-paranoid Americans because we were the only ones carrying bear spray on the trail. It is an old, extremely well-traveled trail, so the bears must stay away. Banff is so popular and filled with tourists, the wildlife probably learns to steer clear of busy spots. Out of the mountains and into the plains our car took us to a 2 star hotel in Kamloops. Sleeping tonight just to travel to Vancouver tomorrow. By the way, although extremely over-priced and crowded, Banff offers spectacular sights and activities. We don’t know if the hotel versus camping changed our perspective, but it is close to being our favorite place visited thus far.
