Danube and Rhine Rivers Cruise

Our journey today took us to the unique and very interesting city of Passau. It is at the confluence of 3 rivers. The Danube, the Inn river and the Ilz river. Interesting to see how they all interplay to end up into the main river Danube. We had a walking tour of Passau, seeing some of the flood devastation that hit this city in 2013. As high as 30 feet above normal river level. Saw many quaint streets, some very steep, of which we walked one to the main shopping district of the city. Maureen & I had a coffee at a coffee shop before going to a church to listen the its world famous organ music. It is the largest organ assembly in the world with 17,949 organ pipes. We were treated to some wild baroque music for 30 minutes. I did not like it at all. Back to our boat afterwards, a short walk. After lunch we went on another tour by bus to do a cruise on the river Linz, on a beautiful wooden barge near a town called Sharding. We were treated to a free beer and a large pretzel. Afterwards we went and had a coffee in town and later went back to our bus to re-join our boat which had cruised to another location. It was a busy day.
