Danube and Rhine Rivers Cruise

PRAGUE & BUDAPEST
Today we departed Prague for our 6 hour journey by bus to Budapest, Hungary. The trip was interesting, driving through gently rolling country hills, mostly farmland, shining with golden looking crops. We did 2 stops along the way, one short coffee break and one for lunch. I had Hungarian goulash soup and Maureen had a sandwich. The restaurant was overly crowded as it seemed 3 or 4 tourist buses had stopped here at the same time for lunch. It rained a bit but later on and it warmed up to an unbelievable 40C! It was the hottest day so far this year that Budapest has had. We finally arrived at our boat, the Mimir around 3 PM. After getting our luggage and a few minutes settling in I decided to do the geocache right away. Maureen came with me to start off but said it was way too hot. Rightly so!. However, as I had forgotten my camera I walked back to the boat with her to get it. Off again I went...in this 40C temperature. I could not find the first cache but happily did find the second one a little further down the promenade. I was quite satisfied with myself as I now had another geocache country under my belt...Hungary. At supper I had trout and Maureen had goulash. Both were good. In the evening our boat did a nighttime river cruise to see the lights of Budapest. Very impressive, especially their Parliament buildings. Only looking at the photos I took would explain better our impressions of this show.
