Aussie Travel 2023 - Part 2

It was getting late and dark and after having driven at least 15km on a dirt road with no other cars going in either direction we were getting deeper and deeper into a forest and the trees around me seemed to get higher and higher. There were obvious signs that the road was used for logging trucks, which then happened, a fully laden Mack truck came up a rise, thankfully we could see each other and passed each other slowly.

I felt like Little Red Riding Hood getting lost in the woods. At some stage we both decided it was wiser to go back and to forget about this ‘Historic Cattle Yard’. Bulla found the ‘Yard’ totally overgrown and no real place to park. He had to reverse the caravan in the dark about 100m until we found a way to turn. We then we drove to the ‘Gravel Pit’ the closest ‘campground’ according to Wikicamps.
