Happy Valentines Day and Ash Wednesday!

We didn't blog yesterday because there wasn't a whole lot to report. We drove up to Winter Park, FL. We had lunch at BurgerFi. First time we ate there. Very good hamburgers and Tim said the best onion rings he has had in a long time. We were blown away by Winter Park. It reminded us of a coastal town in California. Beautiful houses. You can't move into the area around the village for less than $2.5 million unless you want a tear down for $1 million. The town was quite large with lots of shopping and restaurants. Amtrak runs through the town. You can jump on board to NYC.

Happy Valentines Day and Ash Wednesday!

We didn't blog yesterday because there wasn't a whole lot to report. We drove up to Winter Park, FL. We had lunch at BurgerFi. First time we ate there. You can't move into the area around the village for less than $2.5 million unless you want a tear down for $1 million. The town was quite large with lots of shopping and restaurants. Amtrak runs through the town. You can jump on board to NYC.

This morning we left Titusville around 8:00 AM and drove to Elkton, FL which is about 10 miles southwest of St. Augustine. We went by the Daytona Beach area. We saw a local race track and race cars parked outside a Walmart. They were setting up for some kind of

racing event. We stopped a few times and arrived here around 1:30 PM.

We are camping on the St. John's Fairgrounds. Basically a field with parking areas for trailers with water and electricity. After we settled in, we had out first caravan GAM which is a "Getting Acquainted Meeting." They are get togethers with small groups of couples so that everyone will eventually spend time with each other. In our group (all retired) we had a nurse, engineer, teacher with a doctorate in reading, special needs administrator, programmers, circuit judge, and college professor. Interesting group. It's a great idea.

After our GAM, we headed to Mass for Ash Wednesday at St. Ambrose, a small, quaint rural church. Turns out the pastor spent many years in Steubenville, PA. Small world.
