Florida Fantasy

After traveling 570 nautical miles, the last port city on the cruise, George Town, Grand Cayman presented a marked difference from all the previous stops. First of all, it was an island and not a coastal town and therefore carried an ambiance and geography that was different and beautiful. The beaches were pure white sand and the water color was an amazing blend of blue and green. With only a half day to explore, we opted just to walk a large portion of Seven Mile Beach, just off the downtown area near the ships. We had lunch and a drink at a beach bar called "The Wharf" that served up amazing cheeseburgers in paradise.

The shops in the town of Georgetown were high end and a little too tourist trap-like for our tastes. A nice quick stop to see a place we’ve heard so much about. If we come across ten million bucks that we need to stash away offshore, we’ll go back. Otherwise, Florida and California likewise have great beaches and are a little more convenient.

After returning to our ship and grabbing our dinner at the buffet, we went to the show “Voice of the Ocean.” During the past week, the ship had singing competition tryouts. The talent was whittled down and these people competed during this show for the "Voice of the Ocean." The winner was pretty amazing.
