The Great Outdoors RV & Golf Resort

We took off from Hilton Head about 8:30 AM and traveled through Georgia and into Florida. We arrived at our first caravan campground about 2:30. The trip went smoothly with no problems. Our new arrangement with the Durango is working out very well.

We unhitched and then attended to a short meeting with our caravan leaders. Saw three couples that we traveled with on our first caravan down the east coast last year. We went over the trip details. Gosh, these leaders have a lot to organize. In fact, the campground that they originally booked a long time ago back out because they didn't fully recover from the hurricane. They had to scramble to get 23 spaces in another campground. Some of the other campgrounds that they normally used in the past were already filled. But they pulled it all together and were very organized. They have a relaxed style and looking at the schedule, we think it will be

a good one.

This is a pretty exceptional campground. It has about 3,000 acres with a lake, golf course and restaurants. We will be here for 3 nights and then head up to St. Augustine.
