Today was a very relaxed day. We skipped the second day scheduled in the city of St. Augustine since this is the third time we've been here. Having said that, it is a great city and should not be missed if you have an opportunity to visit.
We decided to go to the St. Augustine Beach on Anastasia Island. We went to the State Park beach which charges an $8.00 entrance fee. Glad we decided to do this. The 4-mile pristine beach is beautiful. It had tall sand dunes vacant of homes. The beach was practically empty. We walked for about 4 miles and caught a long-distance view of the lighthouse. It was a partly cloudy day, about 82 degrees. Comfortable. Beautiful.
Afterwards we went to the Sunset Grill which was rated highly on Tripadvisor, We sat outside and ordered fish. Tim had a Trigger fish sandwich with coleslaw. Pat order a Mahi fish taco. We were starved and looking forward to the highly-rated food. We give it a "C" to be generous. We could hardly taste the fish for the amount of their special jalapeño sauce. Sounded good on paper but overwhelming and we're certain cancelled out our calorie burn walk on the beach! No pictures of this meal. Our plates were filled with scraped-off sauce.
We stopped to fill up the tank for our trip to Tallahassee tomorrow morning. Driver meeting at 5:00 at the campground and then getting ready for departure tomorrow.
