South-east Asia: An Adventure

Our second visit to the capital was less adventurous; but we did walk kilometres on end to explore sights such as the famous Russian Market and the newly developed grand mall. Both were interesting. Other than that, we had opted to stay in the backpackers party street, and so our evenings were spent having some beers and hunting for delicious street food.

We tried one of the delicacies of the country: developing chicken foetus. It will be one of the strangest culinary experiences of our lives! Sold to us by the charming street food vendor as "yes, egg baby! Egg baby!", we opted for the deep-fried version, which turned out to be (upon taking a big bite), a foetus still surrounded by yolk, and enveloped by batter. Tasty, but never again.
