Laters London - MC and JD's adventure back to NZ

After the full on sightseeing day yesterday, a more sedate start to today. We headed into Mercato Centrale, a large two story market with stalls on the ground floor and a food court upstairs. This was a great experience trying several different types of pizza bread things and some bruschetta with more espresso, seriously good coffee in Italy! Upstairs we tried a fritto misto, beautiful fried seafood.

Now at this point we had tried to get a computer charger sent to our next hostel but to no avail, Amazon did not seem to recognise the address… Crom headed out to a computer shop to see if he could find a charger here. After a lot of confused arm waving and gesturing, this was fixed by getting a new cord to go from the charging box to the wall. Back online, wahoo!

From here I walked through the city to the Cathedral where Galileo and Michelangelo are buried and sat in a few different piazzas enjoying the sun and people watching before I met up with Jo again who had been walking around the city walls. In need of something familiar we had a few beers at the local Brewdog Pub and a Guinness before heading home for fresh pasta and pesto. The flavours here are so delicious and simple!

I feel like I am saying this about a lot of places in Italy, but Florence is amazing. I think it would be one of my favourite cities in Europe for the history, the sights and the food! It is also very walkable as most of the main sights are in the middle of the city which is mostly pedestrianised. Would highly recommend as a place to visit, but give yourself at least three days!
