My trip to the hospital in Peniche. As I get older, the more aware I have become of what I put into my body. Because of this, I do believe in medication but to a lesser extent. For example, don't take asparagus when you have a headache, take rest when your body tells you to, and try to handle it as naturally as possible. Therefore, when I got a little sicker, I took two weeks of real rest. Drinking lots of ginger tea and taking some special herbs.

A friend came to visit me from France and we rented a camper. On the road through Portugal, road trip started! I was not feeling my best but stubborn and wise (I thought) that I was, believing that I would get better soon. So it started two weeks earlier. Sore throat, headache and cold. No covid. Probably at some point pre-cavity inflammation. This I thought with all the aids listed above done, it would fix it. Only, one night I couldn't sleep from my earache. The next day I woke up with blood coming out of my ears. Okay, worse than I thought. Three hours later, an x-ray scan and 4 conversations with three different people, medication instructions. This consisted of 2 courses of antibiotics and additional medication because the two courses of antibiotics were an assault on my body and to balance this.

Fortunately, I did get better after the courses and am a little wiser. Being aware of your body and listening to it, wanting to solve it in a natural way, that's what I still stand behind completely. Just be honest with yourself if you know you can't do it alone. Peniche was amazing though!
