There where I learned the salsa and bachata, going out with friends, going for a breakfast or lunch of visiting art galleries. One that I liked the most was Galeria Zé dos Bois. It’s a creation, production and promotion structure for contemporary art. They have every month different activities with well known and unknown artist. From music tot painters. And, they even have a nice (cheap) beautiful view rooftop bar.
Tourists wander the steep cobblestone streets of alternative Bairro Alto to catch a ride on the Bica Funicular, visit the richly decorated São Roque Church and admire the views from Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara. Many of the neighborhood's century-old houses are decorated with vibrant street art.Bairro Alto has a lot of history, blind streets and nooks and crannies. As in many parts of Lisbon, you can stroll and enjoy the quaint narrow streets in this neighborhood. As night falls, hip, quirky bars fill with a wide variety of visitors, while poignant fado music sounds from traditional restaurants.
