I started in the second semester, called the springsemester. The choice to go a month earlier was easily made. I did this so that I could get used to the place where I am, get to know the surroundings and let's face it, have a nice holiday and discover the cosy little cafes. Going alone also means that you are mainly on your own. Trusting my inner compass, wonderful! Trusting yourself and being creative with the challenges that arise gives an empowered feeling. A challenge presented itself fairly quickly.
After one and a half weeks in my first house, I discovered that I was not sleeping alone in my bed. There were bed bugs in my mattress, yuck! It was a terrible discovery. Not only because of the bed bugs but also because I really enjoyed the house and the people I lived there with. Namely, with 7 lovely housemates. Unfortunately, bed bugs put an end to this.
