Week 9

09.28.2015

It's only spring, but it feels like SUMMER!

Not many indoor activities this week.. Except for making chocolate fudge =P (and preparing the banana split, Mmmm) and finishing the castle/boxes by painting numbers, shapes and letters on them.
And we also painted some more names for our art-wall, so Jack can learn how to spell them. Grace even started painting her own hand to do finger(hand)-painting.. Remember last month were they both hated to get their hands dirty... =D

We really enjoy our times going to the park, feeding ducks, riding our bikes, running across the field, kicking our ball around, eating our tea and just relaxing on the picnic blanket.. You just got to love it!

I also made a new outdoorsy game that the neighbors will love.. Music session with pots and pans (first time at 9 o'clock in the morning).. Metal spoons definitely make a lot more noise than wooden or plastic condiments =P You're only young once, so why not! We just make sure the neighbors are used to all this noise by the time the kids are 16 and it's a whole other kind of beats =D

Thanks Kim, for our supercool new summer hats and glasses.. The kids look really cool in their shorts, t-shirts and sweet head ware =D

Btw, happy 5th anniversary Kim and Greg...

Kim went to sea festival in Kaikoura, which kept me in charge on Friday (so no time to spend more money, especially after the Boulevard Sales on Tuesday, damn you!). I don't know what happend or why, but Grace slept the entire night trough.. Let's hope she keeps it that way (and that Jack joins her next time).

Saturday felt really kiwi-like... Going for a run on the river trail (mountainbike trail, so probably not the best place to go running :S), preparing food and pudding, watching Mid Canterbury Rugby, having a BBQ (even though we cheated a tiny bit by putting some things on the stove first) with heaps of leftovers, watching (and singing along) Pitch Perfect and finishing it at Braided... I love these girls (Laura, Audrey and Grainne) with their fat hearts ;)
