We woke up in London, grabbed a map, hot tea and set out for an adventure. The Thames River was only a few blocks away and headed in that direction. We couldn't believe how dirty everything was. There was garbage left everywhere, even the garbage containers were overflowing.
Took some pictures of the London Eye, the bridges and headed towards Westminister Abbey. The line was starting to form to go in and had about an hour wait so we decided to get in line and check that off our list. Westminister Abbey is the location of Lady Diana's funeral, William & Kate's wedding and they hold all coronations of English and British monarchs. In this location they have the official King Edwards chair that is used for all the coronations since 1308.

After the Abbey we went to get tickets for our Hop-on bus. There was a race going through the city and was causing many road blocks. They recommended taking the bus to the river cruise and after that the race would be cleared out. After the cruise we grabbed a bite for lunch and waited at our bus stop. And waited. And waited. It never came. We walked to St Paul's Cathedral and saw where Diana & Charles were married. Tried to catch another bus and another no show. We took a taxi to Buckingham Palace and walked through the gardens. Because of the race earlier in the day they did not have tours or changing of the guards.
Then we strolled 2 miles through Hyde Park past the Diana Memorial Fountain, through the Kensington Garden and to the Palace where William, Kate, Harry and many other royals live. This is also where Diana lived with and without Charlie. The Memorial was very peaceful with a circular stream and jets that made sounds of rushing water.
We grabbed a taxi back and tried to catch a night bus for the evening tour. Guess what? That didn't happen so we took the next bus to our hotel and called it a night. Troy went out, grabbed a diet coke, got an ice cream bar for me and all was good.
