After a superb 9 hour sleep we were up for brekky and then our usual meeting upstairs. Each day we hand out the winner of the 'dill of the day' a lovely purple shirt that they have to wear for 1 hour continuously. There are no shortage of people being dobbed in for dumb stuff. Like saying are there Wolves at the Wolf Park or walking to the wrong side of the bus to open the door. Good fun.
It was my groups turn to go canoeing today and we were going to 12kms on the Sahr River. The boys went in pairs I was by myself. It was a very easy paddle as we were going with the current. The water was superb and very refreshing on a 27 degree day. We had a great time and the countryside was superb. Lots of vineyards on the hills. Mitchell and Chris McCarthy lost their paddles twice so they are a nomination for the aforementioned shirt.
The tour took us past a river lock and there happened to be a ship heading down it. The ship/ferry was easily 100m long. I can't imagine them turning it around.
So we finished the last few kms although I dropped off as my shoulder was giving me grief. It was probably good as I took the opportunity to really have a good look around and relax. Doing it tough as usual.
After we finished we had ice creams and a few cokes. I had a coke (in a bottle ) and a cornetto for 2 Euros. Unbelievable how cheap things are.
I then took my car and had a tour around the countryside and we drive to Maccas. The boys had a burger etc. I just enjoyed the drive. I had my first experience on the autobahn. Awesome. I was quite conservative and drove at 160kms/hr. Cars were still whizzing by me. Wow! Speaking of cars it takes a while to get used to all the Mercs and BMWs on the road. Cheap here of course.
Following dinner I hit the hay early and read my book before falling asleep. Some stayed up and watched Germany game. Apparently I snore said Chris. I don't believe him!
