Game Day
It was an 8am brekky and guess what - the same. Although to be fair I now have it down pat and can have a meat and egg sandwich whipped out in about 2 minutes (no counting Hayley).
It was off to the Wolves park in the morning and we arrived about after about an hour on the bus. A good chance on bus to read a book or do the diary. I even manage to record the sessions the German coaches put on for us. You can't really make out where you are heading as it is very hilly and the forest is so thick. Apparently where we are staying is right in the edge of the Black Forest hence why it is so amazing.
The Wolves park was good and the Wolves were active but in all fairness they all look the same just different colour. There is no information available about habitat, feeding etc. So once you see them it's like ok great..... And you move on. It is free though which is unique in this day and age.
We returned for lunch and the players then had a little while to prepare and relax before the games. Many of us walked next door to the Luge park. After having a coffee I had a crack at the Luge and the ride was pretty good. It is about 500m up in which you are carried like a ski lift. Then you are on a stainless steel track which gets the luge going pretty fast. There is a brake but I didn't use it until the end. It's very safe and you can't get hurt. You guys would love it. Not in the same category as space mountain though.
Then it was off to Elversberg for the games and I finally saw the stadium where Mitch and Pierce get to play. It is having a new major grandstand put in. We played on the training field. All 3 teams won and they were pretty impressive in doing so. It looks like Nykodah will be invited to train with the club. The GK's will also train with the team as well.
The last game finished at 10.15 and we travelled home for an 11.30 bed time. Didn't sleep well though. Restless!
