My diary

Day 3
Breakfast was the same as the previous day. It's very nice and filling but maybe after 10 days of the same thing we might think differently. I noticed one boy had cornflakes with OJ instead of milk. Yuk!
At brekky each morning we have a wrap up of the day before and this is run by Chris. He is in his element here. One of the things we do is have a goose of the day for doing silly things. Nominations must be in before breakfast and the 'winner' has to wear a pink shirt (I will get a photo) for an hour continuously. Major fashion risk there. Nominations have included Mitch McLeod for walking into a glass door while texting, one of the NZ girls for throwing dressing room keys on the roof, and one of the boys who left his training gear at home in Oz.
We began training early at 8.30 and despite a game the night before all players worked really hard. The Gk's had a particularly hard session.
Once training finished it was a quick shower and off to Zweibrucken for some shopping. The coaches found a nice cafe for lunch and it included a nice Merlot with our pork snitzel. The mall was an exact replica of the outdoor malls of the USA except they are more expensive. Most boys headed to Adidas and Nike but the prices and range were a bit disappointing. Mind you it didn't stop some lads burning through some cash. Surprisingly enough (or not really) boys have come away with untried cards and the pins end up not working. They never listen.
On the way back after shopping we stop at Lidl - which must be a a version of Aldi as it is exactly the same. Very cheap and the crew were able to get a few snacks and supplies.
As we started training upon return it started pooring down so the coaches made for cover and the players toughed it out. It was a good chance to catch up on some housekeeping actually as we have been very busy without any down time recently.
The downtime has continued however after dinner with coaches having a 'Meeting' over a fine red or German Beer. Luckily we are all still tired and we will be off to bed very soon.
Until tomorrow.
