THis park was across the road from the airport. Father was in 'aeroplane heaven'!!! We had the added pleasure of watching the crop dusters and helicopters fill up for water for the nearby fires.

Highlights:
Bundy Bell Cruise: We went up river looking at the town sites along the way. The Skipper was a teacher and knew about immersion- the commentary included songs and poems about Bundaberg! AND... He went to Jannali Boys highschool - Fathers old school!t was extremely pleasant after the extreme heat of yesterday!

Mon Repos Turtles:
We went to the centre at 6.30 pm to wait for the turtles to come up onto the beach. We walked onto the beach in pitch darkness- luckily I had fathers arm to hang onto- nearly tripped over many times- couldn't see a thing! Thankfully they put a torch on once the turtle started laying. Apparently once they start they zone out and are not aware of what's going on around them. Whilst we had to be quiet, the ranger talked us through the process as they measured and tragged the turtle as it was a first time mum. We watched the turtle, lay eggs, cover the next with sand and then 'swim' to the water. AMAZING!!!

Bundaberg Rum Distillery:
We went on the tour. It was very interesting. Tasted the molasses and then at the end you could taste 2 drinks. I asked for a 1/2 nip (not a drinker) of Banana liqueur and sat down- just in case!!!
