We woke up to another glorious day and had breakfast on the balcony soaking in the sun. After brekkie we did a part of the very pretty Cape Foulwind coastal walk - gorgeous views! - then headed towards Nelson driving through the so called "foreboding" Buller Gorge, where we saw an older couple driving a big blue bus and towing an SUV with a sign in the window proclaiming "RETIRED and HAPPY spending our kid's INHERITANCE!"... A nice drive but without the magic of the West Coast scenery. Arrived at "The Sails" in Nelson, another great room with a kitchenette and a courtyard... We asked our host what to do in Nelson and were advised to try the boat trip up the Abel Tasman National Park coastline and maybe do one of the walks... So we made the booking for the following day, cooked dinner and went to bed early knowing that an early start was on the cards for the following morning...

Day 13: New Zealand South Island 2017
