French Currency
The main currency used in France is the euro. Its exchange rate is $1.19 per dollar meaning that the euro is more money once exchanged. Once exchanged back into dollars, the amount of money is less. It has been interesting using the euro here, I find it simple to use and easy to manage. All bills that are smaller than 5 euros are in coins, which makes change super simple and easy to figure out. change when you buy something in order to make it all even. I found it actually very easy to adjust to the euro and to manage my money here in Paris. It was difficult, however, to exchange money with other students. For example, if we all went to a restaurant and the total was 50 euro, then we would have one person pay and the other CashApp them. However, it got more and more confusing with the exchange rate and who owed who, but towards the middle of the trip, it got easier and easier. We also downloaded a really great app to help us keep track of our money where it goes, what we spend it on and who owes who. It's called Spiltwise and it works with euros, so we could easily pay each other back with CashApp and euros. I think when I go back to Europe I will download Splitwise again, it was truly benefical and it helped us a lot in the long run.
