GEORGIA

Day two in Mestia was so boring... we didn't feel at all like exploring the town.. snow everywhere and cows roaming the streets (I think they have more cows than people over there) the foul smell and all that made us feel like the room was much better.

Luckily we managed to find a chess board which was like a super time killing thing to do.

Mestia, Svaneti - Georgia

Day two in Mestia was so boring... we didn't feel at all like exploring the town.. snow everywhere and cows roaming the streets (I think they have more cows than people over there) the foul smell and all that made us feel like the room was much better.

Luckily we managed to find a chess board which was like a super time killing thing to do.

And baby had an advantage as she was wise enough (wink) to pack a book. The WiFi connection was a bit glitchy.

Day three in Mestia - Our anniversary day - Three years since we said "I Do"......

We started our day by going to a Church... Another very old old church. Here the priest was wearing trousers and a Jacket. Georgian Orthodox churches are full of beautiful frescoes. The Taxi driver then took us to a house of one old lady who offered us Kachapuri. Not a word of a common language spoken. But So much of love and warmth was shared. Once again it reminded us of the hospitality, love and friendliness that Georgians had to offer..

And then.... off we went to Hastvali, the ski resort of Mestia.

We couldn't try skiing unfortunately for my fractured ankle. But we managed to make it on the cable cart. What a beauty. Our hands were too damn frozen to even try taking the phone out to record the beautiful landscapes that we were seeing. But coming back we were ready with the selfie stick out. The view was even better coming down. Millions of huge Christmas trees covered with blobs of glistening white snow. And far down we could see the svan villages with the guard towers standing out. Guard towers which were built to protect the city in the early days are now adding a unique beauty to the svan villages. And with a look down we could see people skiing to their hearts content.

We came back to the hotel and Myah informed us that there was a surprise for us since it was our anniversary. And the surprise turned out to be a cake with "Hotel Svaneti"written on it. The two Ukrainian couples who were also guests at hotel Svnaeti were to leave the next day. So they also got a cake.

We were happy to finally leave Mestia. We had our fingers crossed that the flight would be available as it would save us so much time. Good night Mestia! Hopefully we will see you again in summer when your supposed to look your best.
