GEORGIA

Finally back in to civilization. The flight was cancelled due to bad weather. And we were forced to come by taxi, which was very very expensive. The drive back was a bit of a scary one where we almost met with two accidents. It was snowing so heavily that nothing was visible in front. You could just see white white and white everywhere and the red arrow signs indicating a bend could be seen very faintly. Until passing Jvari pass it was a drive full of thrill and excitement. The driver wanted to drop us off in Zugdidi since he couldn't drive back in such bad weather late in the night. It's just Good Lord in heaven who knows how he drove in that weather. Hope he reached his Svan home back safely.

And then we had to come with one old Russian Taxi driver. He was quite slow in driving. It took us like forever to get to Tbilisi. But we finally reached at about 10.30 pm. That was one long drive.

Upon reaching hotel Mariali, we met Mr. George another influential man we met on the trip. On the first day we reached in Tbilisi one Indian guy came and gave us a brochure of Taj Mahal, the Indian restaurant chain in Georgia. And we laughed and said who on earth is going to eat Biriyani in Georgia. But after coming back from Mestia our taste buds were like so dead that we went in search of this Taj Mahal. The Patiala chicken gave life to our dead taste buds.

It was a pleasant night at Mr. George's Hotel Mariali.....

Just one more thing i forgot to add.... We saw for the very first time what old town looks like in the night. The beauty of this vintage city would just mesmerise you. Every monument is beautifully lit-up in the night. The Narikala Fortress complex, The Ferris wheel of Mtatsminda mountain, the Bridge of peace, The monument of King Vakhtang I Gorgasali (The founder of Tbilisi) all so beautifully lit up.

Dzveli you are the Queen of our hearts!!!
