SL Trip

When I was just a little baby, before we came to New Zealand we went on a lot of trips with Nesanga and Sanus family. On our visit to Sri Lanka this year we were lucky enough to go to Maskeliya with them. It was a long journey there and back about six hours long.

We stayed in a bungalow called Foress Bungalow. The bungalow was beautiful. The air was warm and outside in the garden there were all sorts of flowers in all shapes, sizes and colours. It was such a pretty sight and also there was a humongous tree standing silently in the breeze swaying from side to side. On the tree purple flowers were blooming with happiness.

That very same day we visited Seetha Gangula and in case you did not know Siripada (more commonly known as Adams Peak) is a famous mountain and Seetha Gangula is a lake just below it. When we were there the air felt cold, the clouds were combining together and the whole sky was beginning to get dark and nothing was seen except for a last streak of light poking its head through the clouds. We pulled on our drier clothes (as none of us had bought a pair of togs with us to Maskeliya) and raced switly along the path to Seetha Gangula. When we got in the water was cold as an ice cube and it was starting to rain so everyone got out. Everyone except me and my dad. We decided to stay a little while longer and when we were done we were walking

back up to the car with towels wrapped around us. When we got back to the car the others were all wearing new clean clothes and when I got changed into my new clothes I joined them to eat some murrukku.

Later on the same day we were served some delicious rice for lunch and as for dessert, some pineapple, YUM! Later that afternoon we decided to go for a small walk around the hill. We walked around for about half an hour and then we started to drag our feet tiredly to the bungalow.Once we were inside Nesanga had bought her connect four board game and she kindly offered us to play with her. We all enjoyed that for sure! We played for hours and hours until it was finally time for dinner. We had some noodles and it was so good!

The next day we were ready to take on another challenge. So the

challenge is to go further than yesterday and to the very to of the mountain. So off we went up the mountain looking down at the view (and trying not to fall off the cliff). A little while later my feet started to hurt and I started to realize that we weren't even half way and that we had such a long way to go. Anyways I somehow managed to get to the top (without my legs breaking off) and oh what a wonderful, breath-taking view it was! You possibly couldn't imagine how many photos we took on just the hill! We spotted a tea factory only a little below us and were keen to go. We went to the tea factory and they said they were closed that day. But to make up for it all they lent us a tractor but I really did not enjoy that. I thought we would fall of the cliff! As soon as we got back we all settled in for an early night.
