The start to our trip began here. Our flight was China Eastern from NZ to Sri Lanka and transit in China. The plane took off after taxi and I was waiting eagerly for the screens to turn on and after watching the peanuts movie (highly recommended, must watch) we were in China.

When we arrived in China it felt like I stepped inside an oven. When we arrived at the airport a shuttle bus was waiting to take us to our hotel. The hotel was comfortable and arranged with two single beds neatly spread with blankets. There was a TV fixed to the wall. The bathroom included a bathtub and everyday needs such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo and body wash. After a relaxing hot bath in the bathtub I was in a clean dress ready for the next flight.

At the Shanghai airport we waited for our flight as it turned out to delayed. I got a choc chip muffin from StarBucks and soon enough we had boarded the plane.Our next flight was up in the air also the movie that I watched was Alvin and the chipmunks and before I knew it we had reached our final destination, Sri Lanka, at last.

Outside my relatives were waiting for us and as I had not seen them in 5 years they gave me a warm welcome.In the big white van we were off to my cousins house. I will talk more about this in the next chapter.
