My diary

Today, my tour group entered the steamy jungles of Cambodia to hopefully witness a relic of an ancient civilization. The jungle gave way to a large clearing in which was a temple surrounded by a treacherous looking moat. The large temple was magnificent, and contained a large ambulatory in which a continuous narrative told stories in including the churning of the ocean of milk according to the our guide. The temple was quite symmetrical and impressive due to its immense height and posture that demands respect. The moat formed a square around the temple, but failed to protect it from the creeping jungle which wanted is resources back. The inside was dark, but the Buddhist work was quite intriguing of how the structure gives honor to Buddha. The best part were the large heads which seemingly protected the large front gate of the facility. While the day was hot and humid, I enjoyed witnessing this relic of power that a religion can bring.
