French cuisine is unique. It's beautiful and always exciting. One of the first dishes we had in France, as well as my favorite dish so farm; would be duck. It was cooked in a delicious curry sauce and served with rice. The meat was tender and flavorful. Duck is very popular in France and cooked in many different ways.
France is also well known for its pastries. One of the most popular and familiar pastries in France are macarons. In our French class, we recently learned to make macarons and quickly learned how difficult they are to prepare. Though they were far from perfect, they were still very delicious.
There are also many pastries I had never heard of that are popular in France. Recently, I tried a Kouign-amann and enjoyed it very much. It is a Breton cake that is described as “the fattiest pastry in all of Europe!” It is a round with many layers of butter and caramelized sugar.
French cuisine is unlike any other. There are particular flavors and textures that can only be experienced in French pastries. After traveling to other places and trying other foods, I realize that French food is special in its own way.
