Marihelena's Travel Diary

After 12 hours of flying, I finally arrived in Paris on Friday the 18th. Everything around me was exciting and new. Even though I felt like I could go to sleep for a week, I still wanted to explore! France is very different from the United States. Not only is the language different, but the style of life here is very different from what I'm accustomed to.
Initially, I was afraid of what to expect from our hosts. But Emmanuelle, Jeff, and Gaelle have been nothing short of wonderful! From the very start, they made us feel welcome.
On the first day in France, our hosts surprised us with our very first French meal. It was so sweet! We all got to know more about our trip and our hosts.
On the second day in France, our group went out to find authentic crêpes. It was quite an experience! We all know very little french which made ordering food very difficult. But we did it! Later on that day our hosts also took us to see the mall and play laser tag. We had so much fun! It was such a great way to get to know each other better and see a little more of Creteil.
Overall, I'm so grateful for this trip. The fears I had are starting to melt away and I'm seeing more clearly why God has brought me here. I am so excited to make new friends and experience new things. Looking forward to all the things God has for us!
